(^ ^ ^ Just in case you didn’t get a Valentine today!)
Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! Whether you have dinner reservations at a fancy restaurant this evening or you’re opening your third box of chocolates, remember that you’re special—whether you have a significant other to tell you that or not!
If you’ve snooped around my blog awhile, I’m sure you’ve noticed that I’m a huge fan of lists. Today I want to share with you what’s on my Valentine’s Day To-Do List—enjoy, singles and un-singles alike!
Isabella’s Valentine’s Day To-Do List
1) Bake a number a Valentine’s Day treats—share if you must.
I really love baking. And I really love holidays that give me an excuse to bake random sweets for everyone.
2) Play in the snow. I’m from the south, and snow is a huge deal around here. We’ve gotten our own little flurry recently, which is lovely.
Get out and have some fun! Don’t you spend your time moping around because you didn’t get asked out this year. Spend your time celebrating the people you have in your life right now!
Which brings me to number three…
3) See people that I love. Yesterday I got to see one of my closest friends and this afternoon I’ll be seeing my buddies who don’t live in my area. Most of them have dates this evening—I’ve heard all about it these past couple weeks—but I’m excited to be able to spend some time with them before they get swept off their feet!
To the Couples: It’s okay to be excited. It’s even okay to tell people that you’re excited. But if you single friends stopped rejoicing with you after the seventh time you told them your dinner plans, maybe it’s time to lay off. Maybe even make time to go out with them (it doesn’t even have to be on Valentine’s day—grab lunch together on a weekday or have them over for dinner one weekend.) But most of all: Have a wonderful time with your significant other today!
To the Singles: It’s okay. You’re not alone. Don’t spend today wishing you were with someone else—or wishing to be someone else. You’re you, and you’re loved. If this day is a real struggle for you, just know: It WILL pass!
Lots of love! ❤
